Leave a Perennial Legacy

A legacy gift helps make sure Edgewood Community Farm, a registered 501(c)(3) keeps growing as a public greenspace for the next round of volunteers, kids, and first-time gardeners who haven't found us yet.

What Is Legacy Giving?

Legacy giving means including the farm in your future plans. It's a way to support Edgewood Community Farm beyond your lifetime, often through simple arrangements that don't affect your finances today.

Ways to Support the Farm's Future

There are a few straightforward ways to leave a legacy gift:

Include the farm in your will: You can designate a specific amount or a percentage of your estate.

Name the farm as a beneficiary: Retirement accounts, life insurance policies, and investment accounts can all be set up to support the farm.

Give land, stock, or other assets: These gifts can help strengthen the farm's long-term stability and may also offer tax advantages worth exploring with your financial advisor.

Give through a donor-advised fund (DAF): You can recommend a future or endowment gift through your DAF.

If you're thinking about any of these options, reach out and we'll send you sample bequest language or just talk it through.

The Perennial Circle

If you've included Edgewood Community Farm in your plans, we'd love to recognize you as part of our Perennial Circle. Members can choose to be listed on our website or on yellow bricks at the farm, and stay connected to how the space continues to grow.

Why It Matters

Edgewood Community Farm has spent years building something rare: a piece of open land in NE Washington where neighbors grow food together, kids get their hands in the soil, and fresh produce is free to anyone who needs it. A legacy gift helps make sure that continues, keeping this land in community use, sustaining the growing spaces, and supporting the people and programs that make the farm work.

Get in Touch

Whether you've already included the farm in your plans or are just starting to think about it, we'd love to hear from you. There's no commitment in reaching out, and every conversation helps us plan for the future.
